About U.S. Cold Patch
Road pros and homeowners choose U.S. Cold Patch. It's the fast, permanent, easy-to-use repair material for asphalt and concrete surfaces. Recycled asphalt is what sets U.S. Cold Patch apart from the competition. It's our main ingredient. Prolonged exposure to wind and sun makes reclaimed asphalt extremely hard, which means that repairs with U.S. Cold Patch are often stronger than the surrounding pavement. Independent testing confirms that this product is stronger and more environmentally friendly than other cold asphalt products on the market.
Fast, permanent, easy to use
With U.S. Cold Patch, you "throw-and-go." Just sweep any loose material from the pothole and fill the hole with U.S. Cold Patch. Then tamp it down. That's it. This product sets up through compaction, which makes for quick, permanent roadway repairs that save time and money. Use it in all weather. Pave right over it. U.S. Cold Patch can be stored indefinitely, indoors or out. No mixing, no saw cutting, no tack coat, no curing time - no expensive tools or protective gear or special training required.
Easy on the environment, safe to use
Traditional cold asphalt hardens through a combination of compaction and evaporation. Petroleum solvents or "cutbacks" are blended with the asphalt to prevent it from solidifying prior to application. A fifty lb. bag of cutback asphalt contains as much as 1 to 3 liters of these solvents, usually in the form of gasoline, naphtha, or kerosene. The evaporation of these distillates release large amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) into the air and water.
U.S. Cold Patch contains none of these hazardous cutbacks. None. It is dry and virtually odorless. There's no noxious smell. Road workers who use U.S. Cold Patch avoid the health risks associated with cutback asphalt, which include irritation of the skin and eyes, headaches, nausea, even liver or kidney damage in the event of long-term exposures to high concentrations of solvent vapors.
The product is sold in 50 lb. bags at hardware and home center retail stores, and through a network of distributors to state and federal transportation agencies, parks, airports, the military, municipal and county public works departments, and parking lot maintenance firms.
U.S. Cold Patch is patented by and distributed exclusively through YK Products in Everett, Washington.
